Never heard of them...had You? I'd seen them from time to time but thought they were simply pugs without portfolio-which is apparently exactly what they are. A cross between the Japanese Chin and a Pug. Or maybe I should say a Japanese Chin without portfolio...you get my drift.Anyway, the little beauty on the left is a Japanese Chin. The two older looking dogs below are both Japugs. In this case 50%Chin and 50% Pug.
The two older dogs are apparently from the same litter and as you can tell from their grizzled countenances about ten-years-old. I looked in vain for a Japug in costume. The one costume that I found that had some Japanese context on Amazon isn't dressing a pug but the neck and chest sizes looked like they would do the trick.
